HVAA Gold soccer level is focused on continuing player development. Gold level is a co-ed competitive program for all soccer players in grades 6th and 7th grade. Players will be placed on teams based on the results of player assessments and coach’s recommendations. Players should have a good understanding of positions, rules and skills of the game. The primary objective by the end of the season is to ensure that each player has a positive experience, desires to play again the following year for HVAA or a school team, and has successfully demonstrated the skills listed below.
- Sessions held at Chapko field
- Warm up techniques, including stretching
- Full understanding of positions and roles
- Dribbling – ball control
- Passing and receiving
- Shooting
- Corner kicks, goal kicks, throw-ins, penalty kicks
- Fouls, Penalties
- Shootouts
- Spacing and Transition
- Good sportsmanship
- Full emphasis on position or game strategies is given at this age group
