Co-Ed Rookie Ball

Any child who will attain the age of 5 or 6 years old on or before April 30th of the current year shall be eligible to play coed Rookie Ball. This division is primarily for 5- and 6-year-old boys and girls who are just starting to play organized baseball/softball and want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Rookie Ball is generally the first introduction to organized baseball/softball for most players, so coaches will collectively umpire. • Warm up techniques, including stretching
  • How to execute proper throwing technique, including proper grip
  • Proper defensive fielding position (down and ready)
  • Names of the defensive field positions
  • What to do after the ball is hit (as a batter and a runner)
  • Knows how, why and when to run to the next base
  • How to grip and hold a bat properly

Game/Practice Days:

  • TBD (30 days prior to HVAA scheduled opening day)

Fees:

  • $80/player
